Watlow, a leading designer and manufacturer of heaters, controllers and temperature sensors, announces the introduction of its revolutionary EZ-ZONE™ ST integrated control loop. The EZ-ZONE ST is the first product to integrate temperature control, power control, safety shut-down and power disconnect in a single package. It features a PID temperature controller already connected to a high amperage solid state relay (SSR) with the option of adding a properly sized heat sink, current measurement, an over/under temperature limit, a definite purpose mechanical contactor and digital communications in one package.
The user has the option of adding one or more remote user interface (RUI) displays. The RUI is a 1/16 DIN and can be mounted at the front of the equipment for easy use. The RUI also features an "EZ key," which can be customized to perform repeatable functions for the user. |

 STI is pleased to announce that we have received the Product of the Year award from PLANT  ENGINEERING magazine for our innovative OptoShield OS3100 Laser Light Safety Scanner — an advanced area guarding scanner that employs laser light to monitor entry into a user- configurable safety detection zone and send a stop signal to a guarded machine. The award honors the top new products as voted on by the readers of PLANT ENGINEERING magazine.

Designed and manufactured in the United States by STI, the OptoShield OS3100 is in stock and available for immediate customer deliveries. STI has been issued five patents on the OS3100. The scanner can be used to protect personnel from stationary hazardous machinery, such as work cells, robot stations and internal press guarding or moving equipment, such as automated guided vehicles and transfer carts. With a warning detection radius of 15 meters, the OptoShield can also be use in security applications for the detection of intruders into a user-defined security zone. A 4-meter safety detection radius is available for machine safety applications.
Intuitive configuration software facilitates easy navigation and user set-up, allowing the OptoShield to be user configured in a large number of area guarding arrangements. The OptoShield introduces significant advancements over similar types of sensors with advanced diagnosticcommunications and a superior user interface tool. OptoShield provides diagnostic features not typically available in safety scanners. These features include a two-digit numeric display, four standard LED status indicators and patented Intrusion Indicators that identify where the safety zone is encroached without the need for difficult diagnostic searches and an external computer display.

We are pleased to announce that we are in the final development stage of an exciting new member to the 953 VMax family of Linear Displacement Transducers. This new 953 VMax transducer will introduce the long awaited SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface) option. Attached is the preliminary brochure which discusses the entire VMax family. In this final stage, we are actively looking for Beta customers who are willing to test the product. This is a critical phase of the project that ensures the product has been tested in and successful in a variety of applications before it is released. The Beta program is absolutely free and will cost the user nothing other than their time.
