TAPCO provides standard and customized training programs and educational seminars, conducted by certified instructors on state-of-the-art equipment in our TAPCO Training Center. We also offer customized programs tailored to your customer’s specific needs and conduct the training on-site.

The following course descriptions are representative of TAPCO’s standard training programs:

A LIST OF COURSES AND DESCRIPTIONS:

  • Basic Omron PLC / HMI Training
Description: This 2 day course combines the fundamentals of Omron PLC’s and Operator Interfaces. Students will be introduced to Omron PLC and HMI hardware, PLC, Rack and I/O addressing, number formats and memory areas. Many hands on, PLC and Operator Interface programming exercises, will ensure students gain valuable experience using the powerful CX-ONE programming software suite!
  • Advanced Omron PLC / HMI Training
Description: This 2 day course provides further instruction of the advanced capabilities of Omron PLC’s and Operator Interfaces. Topics covered in this class include Data Movement, Data Comparison, Sequencing, Math and Indirect Addressing. Students will also learn how to transmit and receive serial data. This will be beneficial when interfacing to serial devices, such as bar code readers. An introduction to function block programming will also be covered!
  • National Instruments Vision and Lighting Training
Description: This 2 day course will ensure students gain valuable vision inspection knowledge using the powerful National Instruments Compact Vision System. This class consists of extensive real world, hands on exercises using NI’s Vision Builder for Automated Inspection software. Students will learn how to apply the powerful vision algorithms built into VBAI to solve even complex applications! Students will also gain extensive knowledge of machine vision lighting.

  • Basic Machine Safety Training

Description:  This one day course provides introductory level to machine safety in a factory automation environment.  This course answers basic questions like what makes a device safe, when is a solenoid switch used, etc.


  • Advanced Machine Safety Training

Description:  This one day course covers light curtains, how and where to install; monitoring relays explanations and variations; redundancy; and wiring examples explained.  Also included is hands-on connection of light curtains and their corresponding monitoring relays, risk assessment briefing and what inspectors look for.  Finally, safety regulations are reviewed and an overview of who is responsible for the safety of the machine (builder or owner).
